Prima prova del campionato di cross a squadre settore Master, svoltasi domenica al Parco degli Acquedotti. Qui sotto un resoconto a fumetti che scomoda anche la mitologia… – First test for italian master team championship at the Aqueduct Park. This time I disturb also mythology…
You have to imagine that the aqueduct was more than twice as high…
Aqueduct Park, january 29th, first test for the italian cross championship, master team sector… Fourth test for our team’s internal contest…
We are nine of us, planning organization improvements… -“A tent…” -“Flags…” -“Something…”
When I was a boy, approaching Rome from the south, you could see the aqueduct and the barracks that grew around it…
No more barracks now (not here at least), but there’s still a shepherd with his herd…
Girls run first. Great Gaia, then Antonella, Marcella and Francesca…
I’ll run stitched to Pinelli: he’s got a pedometer watch. He used to run the 110 hurdles…
He also ran 8 marathons and Roma-Ostia way back in 1980. He was a post-punk runner (I guess)…
In the end I just run in his wake, with little contribution in speeding up our pace…
The truth is that I like asphalt. “I’ll let him go ahead, so he’ll mark an extra point in our team contest…”
But Atalanta, patron of runners, takes the place of one of our team mates, and moves forward to punish me…
Here’s the photofinish, Atalanta is behind the guy in fore ground, Pinelli is tired but happy, and I don’t seem so pissed off, after all…
